ShopMaxxing ("we", "our", or "us") operates as a Shopify application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you install and use our app.

1. Information We Collect

When you install ShopMaxxing, we collect:

Shop information — your Shopify store URL and access token required to authenticate your session.
Order data — fulfilled order counts used to calculate XP, streaks, and matchmaking scores. We do not store individual order details or customer PII.
Revenue data — aggregated revenue figures for milestone tracking. No transaction details or payment information are stored.
App usage data — XP events, badge progress, challenge completions, and matchmaking results tied to your store ID.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and operate the ShopMaxxing app features (XP system, leaderboard, badges, matchmaking).
To calculate your store's rank and display it on the opt-in leaderboard.
To award XP, badges, and prizes based on your store activity.
To match you with other merchants in 1v1 matchmaking.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Your store data is only shared in the following limited circumstances:

Leaderboard — if you opt in, your store name and XP rank are visible to other merchants using the app.
Matchmaking — your shop ID is shared with the merchant you are matched against so both parties can see the match.
Service providers — we use Railway (hosting) to operate the app. These providers process data only as needed to deliver our service.
AI provider — when you use the optional AI Studio feature, we send store content only (product titles, descriptions, SEO fields, prices, and public product image URLs, or your catalog and aggregate sales totals for the store report) to Anthropic (Claude) to generate your results. We never send customer names, emails, addresses, or individual order details to the AI. Anthropic does not use these requests to train its models. If you use the optional photo enhancer, that product's public image is also sent to Google (Gemini) to generate an improved version; still store content only, never customer data.

4. Data Retention

We retain your store data for as long as the app is installed. When you uninstall ShopMaxxing, Shopify sends us a redaction request and we automatically and permanently delete your store's records. You may also contact us at any time to request deletion of your data.

5. Security

All data is stored in a secured PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway. Access tokens are stored encrypted and access is restricted to our application servers. We follow Shopify's security guidelines for embedded apps.

6. Shopify's Role

ShopMaxxing is built on the Shopify platform. Shopify independently collects and processes data about your store as described in Shopify's Privacy Policy.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the data we hold about your store.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your store's data by uninstalling the app and contacting us.
Opt out of the leaderboard at any time from the Settings page.
